Dining Table - Sketch Up

The reason I chose my dining table to take the form of the Chinese symbol - yin yang is because it represents two opposing and, at the same time, complementary aspects of any one phenomena. This forms the basis of my environment. East meets west. Zhang and her culture is immensely different to that of Jobs. However, despite this difference they have both achieved great power and wealth by their persistence, strength and ideas. In this way they are the same. This is shown further by the materials used in the table. One half is made of metal, representing Jobs and the other of wood, symbolizing Zhang. The different materials of the table are joined to form a small intimate meeting.
